Fauquier Habitat for Humanity is one of the founding affiliates to create the Virginia Statewide Community Land Trust.
-
Simple
Our houses are modestly sized. They are large enough for the family’s needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs to a minimum.
-
Decent
We only use quality, locally available building materials. Habitat home designs reflect the local climate and culture.
-
Affordable
The labor of sub-contractors, volunteers, and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes, and low or no-profit loans make it affordable for low to moderate-income individuals and families to purchase Habitat houses.
Habitat and the Environment
Habitat is dedicated to building with resource- and energy-efficient practices, constructing homes at least to ENERGY STAR standards. Its Construction Technologies department equips our affiliates with building techniques that preserve natural resources and decrease long-term expenses for Habitat homeowners.
