Women Build

Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s volunteer program for women who want to learn construction skills and make a difference in their communities. Fauquier Habitat for Humanity completed its first Women Build home in 2005.

Women Build volunteers do more than swing hammers and raise walls. They immerse themselves in the entire Habitat project process from start to finish, from planning fundraisers to building homes.

These volunteers completed their latest Women Build-sponsored home in June 2013. Since then, they have sponsored two of the units in the Sterling Court duplexes, built by Fauquier Habitat for Humanity. Women Build is now raising funds for their next sponsored build while contributing to Fauquier Habitat for Humanity projects. Volunteers are needed to help build as well as organize events and fundraise.

To sponsor a new home, Women Build needs to raise about $140,000. If you are interested in assisting with fundraising, please contact us. You can also make tax deductible donations. Help us reach our goal – any amount will help a local family have the opportunity to purchase a decent, affordable home and move out of substandard living.
