Get Involved

With your help, we can achieve our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Building a home alongside other volunteers and partner families is extremely rewarding and a great way to get to know your community. When a home build is underway, regular build days are scheduled for volunteers and partner families to join our Construction Manager on site and build a home from the ground up. Site leaders will give you instructions and provide you with support throughout the day.

You may volunteer as an individual or as a group. Volunteer spots are filled on a first come, first-served basis. All construction volunteers must be at least 16 years old and must complete an online safety course and submit the appropriate liability release:

Liability Release Waiver for Adults (18 & over)

Liability Release Waiver for Minors (between 16 and 18)

Women Build

Women Build is Habitat for Humanity’s program for women who want to learn construction skills, build homes and organize events. This program brings together women from all walks of life to address the housing crisis facing millions of women and children worldwide. No experience is necessary but volunteers must complete an online safety course and submit the appropriate liability release:

Liability Release Waiver for Adults

Liability Release Waiver for Minors (between 16 and 18)

When Women Build is not building a home, they are busy organizing events and raising funds to support Fauquier Habitat for Humanity home builds.

Committees and Other Volunteer Opportunities

Non-Construction volunteers play an important role with Fauquier Habitat! We are always on the lookout for volunteers with various skill sets including administration, photography, social media and more. In addition, we have volunteer opportunities with our committees.

To volunteer in any of these capacities, please contact complete the Volunteer Interest Form or contact Rebecca Frye, Resource Development Manager.

ReStore Volunteer

The ReStore accepts donations of new, used and surplus building supplies, appliances and other home improvement items for resale to the general public at up to 50-90% below retail prices. 100% of the proceeds benefit Fauquier Habitat. Volunteers work with ReStore staff collecting and receiving donated materials, pricing and stocking items on the store floor, cleaning and organizing the store and assisting customers.
